Your health data stays on your iPhone

Care profiles, medications, schedules and dose history are stored on your device using Apple's on-device storage. CareShelf contains no networking code at all — there is no server to upload them to, no account to sign into, and no analytics or advertising SDK.

Label scanning

Scanning a pharmacy label uses Apple's on-device text recognition on a photo you take or choose. The image and the recognised text stay on your iPhone. CareShelf records the name, strength and directions exactly as scanned or typed; it does not look anything up in a drug database.

Notifications

Reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app. They are not sent through any server.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Apple tells the app whether a subscription is active. CareShelf never sees your payment details, and this is the only part of the app that involves anything outside your device.

Permissions

CareShelf uses the camera and photo library (for label scanning) and notifications (for reminders). It does not use location, the microphone, contacts, or Apple Health.
